Data we collect
Analytics cookies
If you accept cookies via the banner on the homepage, a basic analytics cookie is stored in your browser. This records approximate geographic region, the pages visited, and the referral source (e.g. search engine or direct). It does not record your name, email address, IP address in identifiable form, or any personal identifier. The cookie expires after 13 months.
If you reject cookies or dismiss the banner without accepting, no analytics cookie is stored.
Contact form submissions
When you complete the contact form on the About page, the name, email address, phone number (if provided), and message content you enter are transmitted to contact@melkshamhome.eu by email. This data is retained only for the purpose of responding to your enquiry and is deleted within 12 months of the last correspondence.
The legal basis for processing contact form data is your consent, given by submitting the form. You may request deletion at any time by writing to contact@melkshamhome.eu.
Server logs
The web hosting infrastructure records standard server access logs (IP address, timestamp, URL requested, HTTP status code) for security and operational purposes. These logs are retained for 30 days and are not used for commercial profiling.
Cookies in detail
The only cookie set by this site (when consented) is an analytics cookie stored in localStorage under the key cookie_consent. No third-party advertising cookies, social tracking pixels, or retargeting cookies are used.
Third-party content
Images on this site are hosted on Wikimedia Commons (upload.wikimedia.org) and are served directly from Wikimedia's infrastructure. Your browser makes a direct request to Wikimedia's servers when loading these images; Wikimedia's own privacy policy applies to those requests. No personal data is passed to Wikimedia by this site.
Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) is used to load the Inter typeface. A request is made to Google's servers when you load a page. Google's privacy policy applies to that request. No personal data beyond the standard request headers is transmitted.
